hi, I am new to this board and I was wondering if anyone had any dealings with national tire and wheel as it appears they have the best pricing for tires and wheels for my '89 Ford F250 4x4. Great board, I am trying to get off work so I can attend the Wednesday mtg's and join the club...all in due time
Thanks,
anthony

I've delt with them before. Got a set of rims from them and a winch a while back. They have pretty good prices on some things and the shipping isn't too bad since they aren't that far away. Never had any complaints in my dealings with them at all. -Ken

Welcome to the new boards Anthony and Ken!
Anthony, I don't know what tires and rims you're looking at, but you might try Tirerack.com just to get a comparison. I've not done business with NTW, but I got a good deal on Goodyear MT/R's from Tirerack. They shipped to me out of Delaware, so no sales tax, shipping was reasonable (probably about a push on the tax), and I had them two days after placing the order.

I've bought plenty from them, and have always had good dealings w/ them. Now, I'll burst everyone's bubble...when Carla lived in Ohio years ago, I drove back from her house thru Wheeling, WV, just to see NT&W. You'd figure the place has got to be great, 'cause its National, and 'cause it's in Wheeling. Turns out it is a General Tire store, w/ a small waiting area and a small showroom w/ some bumpers, lights, some lift parts and shocks...that's about it. Not the big Taj Mahal of wheeling stuff I was expecting. They did have a huge, plain warehouse next door where they kept all the cool stuff, but you couldn't just browse around. Did it stop me from dealing w/ them? No way. I guess that's how you keep the prices low, not a lot of flash - just good stuff.

hi, Thanks for the replies. I have an '89 Ford F250HD 4x4 w/full floaters (D44HD & 10.25) with 4.10 gear ratio, 351Windsor and a C6. I am trying to switch from 16.5 x 9.75 Aluminum rims to 16x8 steel wheels...but it is not as easy as it would seem. The wheel i was thinking of is the American Racing ( AR 767 ) along with the Super Swamper LTB 34X10.5X16. The price they gave me to my door including wheels, tires, shipping, mounting, balancing, caps & new lugs ( hey there is 32 of them..thats adds up you know ) was $832.
Thanks again for the replies,
Anthony AKA Grizzly Bear on CH#19 & 20 ;D

Anthony welcome I have delt with them all my life since i am from there and they are real resonable if you get it there. I ussually just pick it up when i am home on leave. Now Chris they have change the store. They still have the little showroom but, they put in a huge wharehouse down the street. It is hard to find but, it is mainly the phone and internet section. They do however have a selection of all the swampers to look at and drool over before you buy the the cheaper BUCKSHOTS.

HI, Broke down and bought them. Man they are great. ;D Took my truck to work so I could have a smooth concrete flors and AIR tools....what a difference. Tires rode great, they hummed a little but after riding around on totally worn 33 x 12.5 x 16.5 mud rovers these things are quiet! I do have to get used to the way it drives after it sits for awhile.
Thanks for all your responses, I'm hoping I can hook up with some of you guys a give them a little workout.
thanks Anthony
