The legislature has been whining about the number of people wanting a plate for their group. It is hard to find someone to sponsor it. I believe the issue is dead for awhile unless you have some political connections.

Then How do the decide on these animal safe , rebel flag, prochoice plates. I am waiting for one to come out so I can have personal tags Ben I know with the Pet Friendly tag (which costs you an additional $25 a year, which I have) they had to get IIRC 300 people to pre purchase the plate before they would think about making the plate. The extra money of that plate goes to the spay and neuter program of the county where the vehicle resides. I'm not sure what is involved with the design of the plate if it has to meet certain criteria. And I haven't seen the rebel flag plate since I can only imagine the complaints that would come out of that one. Your best bet if you were really wanting to get this plate to happen is first contact a delegate from your area, meet with him/her about wanting to get the plate. I would say at this point the earliest anything would happen on making the plate a reality would be next session of the leg. You would also want to get a petition together of the VA clubs to get buy in and a signed petition. You may also have to work with the DMV on pre-orders of the plate. A mock design would be helpful but Ben could do that for you. Jonathan

This can't be that hard to get done they have everything from greyhound adoption to the Harley Owners Group & the state flower to the sons of the confederate..... There must be a formal process, lets do it, it should only help the states efforts for our sport! Maybe I will register for 1 more board (arghh all these logins, LOL) JUST to post this on the VA4WDA board! This is a good thing fer sure. Who's Ben? Could we have a contest for designs? OK, I'll get off the soapbox (for now) ;D

Your best bet is to e-mail Erick Smellsbad and ask him. He did the research for this i think?

Erick did the research. You gotta get a delegate to sponsor it first, then get 350 prepaid orders.

well seeing how we have Jeep Jamboree and Camp Jeep coming to VA and that they are high publicity 4wheeln events. maybe we could set up a petition and booth with a mock up and get peoples opinion and $$$$ to get the plate made. Maybe it will give other people from other states ideas on supporting there clubs by designing their own plates. THEN THE WORLD WOULD BE A HAPPY PLACE
