38's are too small thanks though Ben! Got some more done- Upper rad mount, had to move rad forwards for electric fan motor/water pump pulley clearance- Fan mount to radiator, it's now bolted to top and bottom flanges of rad, bolts on flanges not shown yet- Engine externals are going on- Hopefully lighting it off next week! Got some more done- Fan is mounted to radiator (and installed to engine compartment)- Alex getting in on it- Upper mounts moving forward- Had to lengthen clutch bracketry forward to clear Mustang shorty header collector- Forget the little adapters the vendors sell, just mount the engine side clutch bracket, mark the bolt hole, drill and tap- Clutch rod need a bend since the frame bracket moved forward. I bent it and it broke so I sleeved it with a bend- Need to drill frame and tap for frame clutch bar bracket, too, and paint bracket. Everything but frame bracket is painted and drying, waiting to go back on. What's left to fire off? 1. Need collector adapters (2 bolt ball style) Anybody have these? ;D 2. Install relay for fan 3. Battery needs to go back in, after fixing body mount-wheel tub area 4. Take starter to Brown's Alernator/Starter Service for hi-torque rebuild, install 5. Connect wires (there's only a couple, it's a 1966!) 6. Run fuel line to carb from frame, with pressure regulator 7. Upper rad hose, put in some water 8. Install dipstick, oil filter, oil 9. Prime engine, bolt on valve covers 10. Install distributer, plugs, wires Dave

Got some more done- clutch bar assembly completed Big Al's hooked me up with the flare adapter, Oceana brake and Muffler hooked me up with the flange adapters. Now I just have to cut and weld the pieces in-line with the frame rails and figure out mufflers, after doing the rock sliders. I'll get some tubing to get the exhaust away from vital parts just so I can start it for now. Hello, neighbors-it's alive! heh heh Browning's hooked me up with hi-torque starter conversion. It's installed, after making up pigtail for solenoid- To-do list is getting shorter at last.....

Installed other header, need to make exhaust go out the sides so I can start it without torching the frame rails and lines attached to them. Finished wiring in electric fan. Hooked up the rest of the wires for oil pressure, water temp and coil. Installed fuel pump and lines. Primed oil system until oil was coming out of rockers. Clamped down heater hose and some wires (which will be getting all ripped out anyway). Ordered complete T3 wiring harness from West Coast Broncos.
Waiting on plug wires (tomorrow) Need to drop in dizzy and run wires.
Keith, it primed up great with just the socket adapters and drill...

The Bronco moved under it's own power today. Cam break-in is done, now to do some laps around the loop to seat the rings.
Thanks Billy and Keith for doing the parts run (don't let me forget the $16 Bill!) and for helping get it going. Keith, I prolly never would have figured I was using the wrong timing marks for setting up #1 plug wire! Oh yea, and the thermostat! lol
Pics to follow, mebbe a vid if I can get it downloaded from the cam. The engine sounds great!

It was fun Dave, let me know if you need anything else. I still think the water was a bit warm just from the break in, which is normal. If it continues give me a call. One thing to check on also is to make sure they didn't accidentally give you a reverse rotation water pump; they've done it to me before. And then one of those Robert Shaw thermostats is a great idea.

Not even close to being done Dave! Are they ever? Keith and Billy getting in on it- Ram stuff going on- Alex wanted to go for a ride, sans mufflers. He did wear ear protection, it's loud. Twist my arm, kid- Engine runs great, Jet Performance Quadrajet works well so far, even when it's 30 degrees out. Push gas down once and hit start button, lights right off. That would be Keith's awsome timing dial-in, also, I'm sure! I need to tune idle mixture a little. Finishing ram assist and moving on to sliders.... Dave

Good to see it moving! Any bets on how long those wheel weights will stay put?
