Yes you can cheat but then you are just going to want to modify that.

It's true...I'm already thinking of which tires I'd put on.

I wonder if anyone rents Rubicons? I also wonder if we could swap out t-cases in an afternoon? ;D I think that there was a place down at the Beach that rented Jeeps. I'm betting that we could swap one in an afternoon but I think that you might have to modify the bottom of the tub or change over to a road grader skid plate. But I was thinking of the supercharger for your TJ. I think what you really need is a blower sticking through the hood.

First couldn't you put a GM steering column in the XJ and why would you want a 3 speed? Wouldn't you want at least a 4 speed? i wouldn't care, the coolness of wheeling with 3 on the tree would overide all other factors

If you got stuck in the mud, w/ three on the tree, I wonder what people would think if they saw you trying to rock your Jeep out of the mud?!?!?!?!?!?

I fear this is going to take an ugly turn, but... how many here learned to drive on a vehicle with 3 on the tree, and what was it?

Lyle's starting trouble, Lyle's starting trouble, Lyle's starting trouble. Champion Motor home with a Ford econoline van front end with a 3 on the tree. I remember when the linkage broke off of the trans while on a trip, then shortly after that was wired back together, the clutch linkage went.

it's a manual transmission but the shifter is built into the steering column. it looks just like an auto, when you get in, but then there is a clutch too. the only time i've ever see it was when i was in Egypt, our cab driver had 3 on the tree; i watched him shift it buy couldn't ever figure out the pattern; coolest thing i saw over there, well that and 3 cows standing in the back of a mini pickup truck going down the interstate
