it's a manual transmission but the shifter is built into the steering column. it looks just like an auto, when you get in, but then there is a clutch too. the only time i've ever see it was when i was in Egypt, our cab driver had 3 on the tree; i watched him shift it buy couldn't ever figure out the pattern; coolest thing i saw over there, well that and 3 cows standing in the back of a mini pickup truck going down the interstate The pattern that I used was up and towards you was reverse, down and towards you was 1st, up and away was second and down and away was 3rd. And if you want to see cows and other things in trucks, drive out by my house. I'll load up the dogs in the TJ for ya. ;D

hey, wanna see how many horses we could fit in the back of the J4000 when I bring it up there. I could put some steel plate in the bed so they don't fall through

I don't think I want to be the one trying to load them. Horses are pretty smart and will mess with you. I was out at the barn once cleaning their hooves. I always had carrotts for them but would keep them in my back pocket. Well one of the horses was trying to take one and couldn't get it out of my back pocket and decided to bite me in the butt (edit) instead. Hey Lyle, what are the controls set at? Let's see if I get edited.

Well since this is a family board I went back and edited myself. Don't want to stress Lyle out.

A whole afternoon to take of the t-case??? Dang, I can swap one 231 for another 231 in under 30 minutes on the Ram. Ya'll must be slow or something. Then again, we do have to take off that pesky croosmember on the little Jeeps....hmmmmI say 2 people per vehicle and we should be done in an hour and have a free Rubi t-case.
