Welcome Jason Liles (93RAMN01TJ) to the club! With a recently purchased '01 TJ with D44 rear, I-6 and 5 speed manual he is already a step ahead! Thanks Jason for letting me be a part of your build up. Here's the before shots to start it off- 02Apr06 Just added Rusty's engine skid (after usual mod's to tuck it up and strengthen)- Pics added Sept 30- We painted the flares today and installed the Drop kick sliders- Pics added 04Mar07... Advance Adapters SYE and Rubicon Express 3.5 lift kit- t-case coming down- Jason mutli-tasking- Guts all over the floor. Well sort of- Going back together- Now he's got a little space between the rocks and important stuff. Next is front stinger bumper and then rear bumper. Tires are new Pro-Comp Extreme Mud Terrain. Nice looking tire, gotta get them in the rocks. Should kill it in the sand- Have fun Jason!

At least he's started off on the right foot with that handy piece of machinery on top of his front bumper. I wish that was my first upgrade years ago. Oh well, live and learn I guess. Welcome to the club! Craig

Agree, good bumper attachment, but I'd have second thoughts about the "tree catcher" rack. But hey, a good spotter will get him through. Like Paul says, what's on the build list first? Fran

First looks like rock protection in the form of my rock rails and rock plates for "slidability". He's got factory gas tank skid so that will do for now. Then engine skid and I'll probably slap some LCA skids on there as well. I'm going to be doing front and rear bumpers, he needs rear first for recovery point and roof rack tie-in. Jason is an avid surfer (we hang out a good bit!) and snowboarder so he needs roof rack to carry gear. I plan on making the rack an integral part of tree and rock protection, especially around the rear quarter area. From there we'll focus on a little lift (since we're done adding most of the extra weight affecting ride heigth) and add a rear Power-trax No-Spin into the rear D44.

A simple budget boost body lift and maybe find someone lifting an unlimited rubicon and he'll be set for 33's Might need a ladder then to get the boards off the roof.

Jason, didn't you hook up with Rubi springs and the part number was the same as the ones in your jeep already? Ben, he's a college student on a budget so I'm thinking IF he gets good grades maybe Christmas (or birthday?) will bring him a nice RE Super-flex lift with adjustable rear UCA's and SYE!

rubi springs only have a higher spring rate. same height as not so special TJs.

Wouldn't the part number still be different? Jason, you sure the numbers were the same?
