Did you guys buy the material and make it yourself or was it pre-fabed or sent-out? I'm not even looking at the hydro steering... Ouch!!!! As for a few things I can make myself to save some $$$ for later... What kind of springs/helpers/coilover shocks are you guys using? Sorry for all of the questions... My buddy told me to use late 80's bronco and Bronco II coils... he said with the weight of the axles it'll stretch... Is there any truth to that, that you know of?

We bought the material and then built the rigs in the driveway. We're both running Fox 2.0 Coilover shocks. Scott's running 14"s front and rear. I'm running 16" in the rear and 14s up front. Spring rates depend on vehicle's sprung weight... not sure about the Bronco stuff.. They're probably close to the right rate..

Alright... When I go back to P-N-P I'll check the heights I'll get on the ford sites and cross-reference the rates for various models... thanks man.

Hey, On that 71 CJ-5 I see that you have a DANA 60 front... and a GM 14 rear... Have they been narrowed? On the 14 that I have the WMS to WMS it's around 67-68" The Waggy 44 front (passenger drop) the WMS TO WMS is 65"... I'd like to keep them wide axles but, this 44 is proving to be more problems than anything... I'm hoping that a DANA 60 Front will be a bolt in of around 62 to 68" The 44 in-order for me to keep the width I have to shorten the long side and extend the short side.... I'm crossing my fingers that there's an axle that will bolt in under my Jeep in the mid to high 60's range (WMS-WMS). My Buddies uncle has a rusted-out two tone brown 77-78 F-250 behind his barn that he's going to sell me for $250!!!!! It has a 460 in it (Blown)... and a Dana 60 front!!! (Not sure what's in the rear!!! See man..... I told these guys that paying $800 for a DANA 60 axle was " Too Expensive"... My buddy Matt says it's a 4 speed so I might yank more than just the axles!!! Plus it has 8 lug Wagon Wheels.... I'm going to tell them to look for another one.... this way I'll have another set of axles for my 84!!!.. But, I'm curious to see whether or not a DANA 60 will bolt in without mods... (Or with minor mods!!!) Thanks: Rich

My axles are full width Chevy 1 ton axles.. I haven't measured the WMS to WMS but I think the front is about 65-67 inches or so...

Awesome!!!... I guess I'll be hunting for a CHEVY DANA 60 instead of a FORD... Wait, does Ford have a Passenger drop 60 or just Driverside?

We've been really busy this week. We got the front and rear axles all braced up and welded all the brackets in hard. Finished building the tranny skid plate, unfortunately we had to modify it a bit for driveshaft clearance issues. Also installed the transfer case for the second time. Installed the rear disc brake kit. Figured out the spring rates needed and fine tuned it a bit more for a better starting point. Ordered my front driveshaft and hopefully it will be here before the 18th. Today I installed the ARB in the front along with my new 35-spline chromolly shaft and Warn drive pucks. What I still have left and only a week or so to do it! Install front end under Jeep Install hydraulic steering Install Hydro-vac brake system and plumb the brake lines Install the transmission and transfer case shifters Mount the fuel cell and run fuel line Install driveshafts Fill all the fluids and find the correct radiator hoses and mount the battery Install the ARB compressor and finish up some wiring Exhaust work for a (rainy day) Finish cage work...add 5 more bars minimal Tie the cage to the frame and install rock sliders Front EXO stuff Install the winches Paint Test drive will be going on the trailer and head to Crozet. Yes Craig it will be ready! That’s what I can think of at the moment…I’m sure more stuff we’ll jump out as I go. Scott

All right we’ve still been real busy on the mighty Wrangler. Had some problems finding some brake stuff that I need desperately. But finally found it today. I needed adapters changing my line going into the brake reservoir from a 3/8s to a 7/16s. What a pain in the rump!
So far this past week I/we got this accomplished
Installed front end under Jeep Installed hydraulic steering (however PSC sent me the wrong reservoir it should have been in today hopefully it’ll be here tomorrow) Installed Hydro-vac brake system and plumbed the brake lines Installed the transfer case shifters Mounted fuel cell and ran the fuel lines Installed the rear drive shaft Installed 3 out of the 5 bars and started welding in gussets couldn’t weld past two days since it was so windy and was blowing away the argon Installed the front winch Tidied stuff up under the hood
Things still left to do. Install the ARB compressor Install the front caliper banjo fittings and bleed breaks Install the correct steering reservoir when it finally shows up Zip tie some more under hood wires and crap Figure out what the correct radiator hoses will be and then fill up the radiator Top off all the fluids Finish up welding the cage and paint/install it Install seats and harnesses Install tranny shifter Install hood latching pins Exhaust/exhaust/exhaust Install rear winch Install front drive shaft when it gets here Install front Exo hoop Paint
Shouldn’t be a problem making the run…Just depends upon if anymore snafu’s creep up Scott
