Not tryin' to pick fights, just make sure the info's out there ... I only remember most of this stuff because I don't have sense enough to spend my brain cells on anything else half the time anyway. ;D I used to have a gorgeous picture of a smallblock and 385 bellhousing side by side, but I have no idea where I put it. I might not have even saved it, just printed it out ... Edit: I just learned something else I didn't know (shocker! . From Wikipedia: In other words, I think it's quite possible your tranny came off the 400, if the 400 was out of one of the FMX-equipped cars.

FMX tranny's were usually bolted to the Windsors, I thought, or the "rare" 400s. And I've read several different sources that all say that the cleveland (335) and 385-series engines used the same bellhousing pattern. I would literally have to go and find a true 351C, M and 400 as well as a 429, 460... and actually map out the patterns to be sure for my own sake *shrug* The 221, 260, 289, 302, 351W pattern is in a circle, if I remember right... ah well, dead horse beaten even more dead!
We all learn something new everyday.... sometimes the easy way, sometimes hard... anyhow... gotta get on the road if'n I'm gonna make the meeting tonight! C-ya
