Been doing some much needed driveshaft work and for those with a lifted CJ find the rear driveshaft angles a little bit of a problem especially the short lifetime of U joints due to improper angles and vibrations that occur. Found a donor from a 91 XJ front driveshaft, now these shafts probably wont trip the trigger of the hardcore at heart due to the 1310 u joints. But these are equiped with a CV style joint which work very well with the CJ's. Since the shaft is quite a bit longer than the 17" driveshaft working length required, it was taken to Standard Parts to be shortend. 24 hrs later the drive shaft was completed. One other component needed is an output yoke for the dana 20 transfer case. A call to Tom Woods driveshafts and a new yoke is on the way. Just be sure to count the splines either 10 or 26 before ordering. price list donor shaft $40.00 shaft work $58.00 yoke $60.00 rides.webshots.com/photo/2476524300056642908aLXxMP?vhost=ridesrides.webshots.com/photo/2783968910056642908aNeXqPrides.webshots.com/photo/2386880140056642908osQTBI

That's why I was thinking of taking measurements and going junkyard diving in progress on my axle swap, as I know both of my driveshafts will have to be shortened or shorter ones made. That looks pretty darn sweet, too. I'm wondering how many Jeepers are going to give you a ration for using a Camp Jeep t-shirt as a rag, though! I'll definitely keep this info in mind when I get ready for (more) driveline stuff. I still need to stock up on some more trail spares in the "for-now" phase. Again, good info!

What a huge difference, smooth and quiet. Something that hasn't been for a long time. Hopefully no more u joint eating anymore.... As for the Tshirt, one can only have just so many orange CJ shirts. It was a medium anyway, not only that all the green CJ shirts have all ready been through the rag mill.... tim

Hahahaha... nice. I usually wait until my t-shirts are beyond tattered before I turn 'em into rags, regardless of what t-shirt it is. Glad to hear you got 'er all fixed up!

I'm wondering how many Jeepers are going to give you a ration for using a Camp Jeep t-shirt as a rag, though! why do you think it's called a JEEP? if you drive a jeep and don't have at least ONE tshirt with identifiable (or non identifiable as the case may be) oil stains/ grease marks, y'ain't never worked on your jeep!

I have older t-shirts that I just don't give a darn about that I'll wear when it's time to do dirty work (and I usually would wear these same shirts if I plan on going on a trail run...), although, somtimes I like wearing some of my more comfortable coveralls. I also have rag-shirts and old towels that I use as well. What y'all didn't seem to get was my poke at being a (Jeep) snob. It's like putting Hummer parts on a Hummer tee... oh, the depravity! Of course, you won't catch me EVER wearing any of my concert shirts doing dirty work. EVER. They cost too darn much! And if I offended anyone... ;D
