This is a build me and a friend did this spring only thought to take a few pictures though. We took a 79 cj 7 i got off a guy up in glouchester who was sellin it witha 390 amc javelin motor a 3spd and stock sticks (model 20 rear and dana 30 in the front) blown clutch but ran. when i asked why this gentleman was rebuilding his home and living in a camper on the property he replied oh the huricane took the old house down 2 years ago. i asked "well was this thing sittin next to the house when that happened" i got the answer in a mumble that the jeep was taken to high ground. but i repeat it RAN! when i tore down the motor there was mud and sand in it. the axels when i chopped the frame about a gallon of water came out of each. So the obstacle of getting all new parts sure i wanted fullsize but i like to trail run and get in really tight stuff so i started looking for FJ 40 hardware and after spending alot of time reading the trading post lookin for junk my friend said the best idea would be to just buy a doner. So after alot of time on the net i talked to a guy in grandy nc who restores jeeps mostly wagooners. i get talkin to him and tell him i just want the driveline and he asks me like 4 more times and he says i got somethign for ya. takes me out back his shop and shows me his mud bogger wagon sittin on 38s starts her up and throws his yard 60 feet behind the truck. so naturally the next weekend we were down there tearing the truck down cause he wanted th interior and lift. we just wanted the drivetrain. So we chopped up the cj and built a triangulated 4 link in the rear and a 3 link with panhard bar up front. [/img]
