Time to work on my own junk.

Finally get to do some maintenance and work on my Jeep. Thanks to TommyBuilt Fab out in Sultan, WA for letting me use the shop to work on my Junk.

First order of business was to get the heep running right again. This required a cooling system replacement. Also diagnose and replace some of the parts in the CCV system (lots of blowby, thought it was the pistion rings). Got that taken care of, now time to work on the suspension.

Front axle out of the rig, time to replace the bushings, ball joints, and chek the diff lube. (Thanks FiFo for the loaner tires to get things in progress)



Another pic of the front suspension gone.


Old suspension bracketry gone, getting ready for new TommyBuilt Fab long arms. I designed the suspension I want in the rig, but I'm having Tom weld it in. Same as I did when I built the cage. I can bend tube and design angles, I just dont trust my welds that much.


Additional list of stuff to get done.

Completely flat belly pan. Raised TommyBuilt Fab motor mounts and tranny mount. Replace bushings in rear suspension. And some "body work" and additional frame to body strengthening.

Clogged vacuum line on the CCV system. That and the air intake silencer box thingy was cracked and sucking oil from the CCV.

Cutting out the new flat belly pan.


New Radius arm mounts to tack the frame.


Putting the new lower control arms in for the first mock-up.


Tom welding the bushing end on the new lca's.


And the lower arms in place. Tomorrow we start on the upper links.
