Once we get this house out there for sale then i will be getting a little more done on the waggy. But, it looks cool the way it is right now However it will get new paint and most likely another motor. Unless someone knows how to put a set of main and rod bearings in. I have never measured done it before and i know it needs a bigger size than original. I just dont know how to do it.

Stick a 4.0 in there and get 'er done. 360 c.i. = < 11 mpg ;D

For the 11 mpg or the 4.0? Sorry, had to go there! I love the look of those old things. I'm wondering if a 4.0 would net better numbers than the 360/5.9, although, I'm sure if he went with EFI in the 360 and set 'er up right.... and back to 'topic', so to speak, if I weren't so far away, I'd help you guys out with re-main/rod bearing that thing Been a while since I've torn any engines down to any extent, but that job is only dependent on how much wear is on the crank. All you need to remember (if the crank journals are NOT grooved from excessive wear and tear) is that you need to micrometer each end of the journals at one point and at another 90 degrees offset. Most DIY books and online resources have the info on how to do all of that. It's a pain, but it can actually be done with the engine in place, or at least without yanking it completely out (although, it's easier with the engine completely out!). Hardest part is getting the oil pan off and ensuring that you have everything timed right when you put it all back together. I'm sure someone closer knows how to do it! Dave G

Get a TBI 350. Better mileage and power for the money.
