wel i got rid of my dodge dakota after it rolled over 270k + 1 new motor but it was a really good truck in highschool any way right after i sold it a good teacher friend back home was on the phone with me and said that he was gonna sell his 99 ram. I rememberd looking no drulling over his truck when he brought it home from the dealer. its a 1999 dodge ram 1500 4x4 sport with all the options except leather (wich i dont really care for in summer too hot) and off road package. sitts up nice and high black with painted bumpers to match and was it a cool looking truck. But i never thought i would be able to afford it. Any ways after we talked last month and he told me he was gonna sell it because he bought the 3500 dually ctd, he only wanted $6000 to buy it and for him to bring it from home to me (michigan). but anyways its only got just under 70k on the truck and i am really happy now i just have to wait for it to get here and dont want to lol. so let me know what you think

So found the tires I'm getting. Going to buy them 2 at a time and put them on at probably the end of the summer when I get the second two. Nitto Dune Grappler DT 285/70R17 and are load rated E.

Chris the tires are $199 a piece. A little bit of a price tag but i like them and they will look great on the truck. My buddy has them on his 2500 and they look sweet.
Dave, I will never buy Toyo tires ever in my life for this truck. This is the second set of Toyo's in less then 60,000 miles. More like less then 45,000. The first set was Toyo A/T's and this set is H/T's. My truck does not seem to like Toyo tires. Although it might have something to do with towing with a load rated C tire but i doubt it because all 4 are at the wear bar at 25,000 miles and i drive the truck nice and easy. Just like Chris does. I also would never give my money to But fu** goodrich. Hate their tires. (way over price).

BFG Rugged Trail 265/70R17 $151 each at Sams Club. Load Range E. My tires won't look as cool, but I can't see them when I am driving anyway.

The $60 off deal is only good through the 6th I believe. Better hurry.

If you think Yoyos wore fast, you should research Nitto tires. IMO they will no better and probably worse. I vote for rugged trail E load range, they worked for us. Or check out Firestone Destination, got them on my truck and I really like them.

Well, I've never heard bad things about either Toyo or Nitto until now *shrug*. I've known a few people who have gotten well over 50k on a set of Open Country A/Ts (namely my cousin on his F350 crew cab, which is his daily driver and heavy hauler and is always hauling or towing a load) and a couple who have the same luck with the Terra Grapplers (although, they were on mall-rated vehicles....). BFGs are good tires (you get what you pay for), but they are nowhere near as expensive as those Nittos and definitely not as expensive as Goodyears. I have Rugged Trail 265/70R-16 Load Range Cs (I think?) on my Taco and it has just over 31k on it, and I probably still have about half of the tread depth left (if not more ) - the tires were on the truck when I bought it, and I have hauled an overload of concrete bricks, towed, used and somewhat abused them. I'll probably switch over to ATs when they wear out, just because I'd prefer that tread in the likely event I'm off pavement (although the Rugged Trails have gotten me out of a couple of pretty slick spots without much of a problem) and I'm not really wanting to put anything more aggressive than that on there.... yet OH, and Josh, just remember.... looks aren't everything... it's all about functionality ;D Dave G

Gonna get these Kelly Safari TSRs. for $152 each. ORRR these Cooper Discoverer STT LTs. for $181 each. Anyone have an opinion as to which one would be the better choice. Just between these two tires, no other ones. Thanks, Josh
