Stick with the Firestone bags. I recommend you go ahead and get the compressor with the gauge and in-cab controls too, because it's a pain to constantly be checking the pressure and keeping air in the bags. They do leak down over time and require minimum pressure at all times. If you don't get the compressor then get a nice bicycle tire pump and gauge to keep them maintained. Good choice on the bags, it's the best way.

Let me throw this out there. If it's sitting so unleveled that you feel the need to put an air bag kit on it to level it out, could you possibly have too much tongue weigth on it? With my pig of a bronco (1 ton's and all) on the trailer, my Ram 2500 H/D barely drops unless I go way forward on the trailer. Assuming you're not exceeding the load capacity of your springs and loading the trailer properly, you shouldn't be sagged down so much you feel the need to level it out. Would love to see a pic all loaded up...my $.02. No air bags=more money into heep. ;D www.campinglife.com/towrating/index.cfm?action=search&yr=1999&make=Dodge&model=1500+Pickup+4x4&min_tlimit=&max_tlimit=

Big difference between a 1/2 ton with old springs and a newer 3/4 ton HD, but good point.

I didn't spring for the compressor and gauge as Keith recommended, but the Rubi does have a Kilby kit, so air is not the issue while away on the trail ride weekend. On another note with the Firestone's ...... I roll (quite too often) with a +/- 4,000 truck camper on a F250 with 16' car trailer and TJ in tow ........ 80 psi in the Firestone's and you never know any of it is behind you ...... of course, the turbo diesel helps ;D

So Josh, I understand your truck sags so much that it caught the attention of a local officer. Is something wrong with your suspension? And get those tail lights and brakes fixed on the trailer!!!!!

well i have kinda made a desision. Just need to find some used 2500 hd 1999 rear/front springs and then ill be good. About keiths last question. The police officer was very nice and knowlegable about the tow setup. He said that the truck did not sag as much as he thought it would with the jeep on the back. Got the lights working all that was wrong was the plug slipped out a little. Thats why i did not get a ticket. Anyway untill i get the new springs ill use the load ditribution hitch. Cris already has it setup for the trailer i was just lasy about using it. OH and mostly the guys at harolds said the truck sits pretty level with the jeep on the trailer i am just used to the way it sits without the trailer. thanks fer the input

ok got a new plan. i will be getting the hellwig helper spring kit (constant not progressive) rated to 2500lbs. it will do just what i want and is well in the price range. i found the idea from one of the chiefs at my command. he has them on his dakota and says they are an easy install and do just the trick.
thankis fer the help guys, josh
