So I just got the super swamper sx's and do not really like them on my jeep so traded with jack. I am getting his MTZ's size 35x12.50. This will be the 7th set of tires on the jeep since i have owned it. Bought the jeep in OCT 08

Just realized that in the last year you have changed the tires on your jeep more times than I have put gas in my Jeep. lol

Well the MTZ's are gona stay for a while (hopefully 6 months) We'll see..... Dave please share your insight. Well, it wasn't insight... I was going to make a crack about something in regards to Candace's post... something along the lines of, "Well, I hope he plans to keep you around longer than he keeps a set of tires on his Jeep!" ;D lol Oh and i already know what the next set will be. g/y mtr'swith kevlar. We should just call the jeep the tire test rig I have a set of 30x9.50 MT/Rs (forget if they are with or without the Kevlar?) on the '87 and they bite pretty well and aren't too extremely loud. Most of it is from the quirky TTB front suspension and the fact that they were somewhat unevenly worn to begin with. Probably might also have to do with other things, I probably need to have them re-balanced or something, I dunno. And yes, we might just have to dub your Jeep the tire test rig.... it's seen more different tires than Keith's Rubi did, I think. Now let's see how many different sets his FJ will see....and how many more sets your Jeep will see ;D Dave G

I don't recall Swampers or Gumbos ever 'being that bad' that people buy them and sell them so quick. I've rolled on 'em both on daily drivers, both bias type and radial. I think people need to realize when they buy them that they aren't going to be like BFG A/Ts or regular street tires. Most agressive tread mud tires aren't a 'pretty' ride. I realized the possibilities of how my Bronco II would ride after I put on the MT/Rs... and put the stiffer stock Explorer springs under it. I'm sure if I had springs that flexed a little softer and smoother - and different shocks, it wouldn't be as rough of a ride... for a Ford Dave G

I had my 34x10.50 bias LTB's on all last summer and loved them. The main reason i got rid of the 36's were that they were a bit to big for the jeep and the axles will hold up a bit better with the MTZ's
Dave, got a good laugh at the joke about me keeping candace Norm, i put at least a mile on mine. LOL

What gears did you wind up putting in your axles? 4.56s are 'good' up to 38" tires (unless you want poor gas mileage and more power to the wheels). I mean, yeah, Swampers in general are pretty hard on your drivetrain, so I understand. I can't remember if I have seen the MTZ's, so not sure what they look like. MT/R's, like I said, bite pretty well and I like them. I'm just not sure if I want to pay for new ones once I go with a bigger tire, so I'll probably opt for Swampers or Buckshots. Glad you liked my humor. Sometimes, my sense of humor is taken wrong and people get upset and offended That ad Norm posted still has me laughing. I always follow certain rules when it comes to buying things, at least for the most part. I'm thinking the owner didn't ask around or realize what the outcome of the purchase was going to be until it was too late. Makes me also wonder if there was a gear change involved or not I've seen a lot of (for lack of better word) idiots 1) buy tires they knew very little about and 2) not do any kind of drivetrain upgrades in the process only to 3) regret their own stupidity. I don't claim to be perfect, though... people know I'm not... at least those who know me well enough ;D Dave G
