Did nothing wrong all i was saying was that why waist the money on an ax15 when u can do a lot better. but if DD is what u want get TF999 or AW4 although i belive neither of them have OD. Not sure but i know a couple people on Jeep Forum are running 904's and TF727.

AW4 swap, as stated earlier, you will need some parts. The TCU uses only 3 or 4 wires to operate and is mostly a stand alone module minus the signal from the TPS. Also keep in mind you will have to reclock the tail shaft housing to allow for clearance under teh YJ using the 231 . ONe good ?, how much lift do you have, I have heard and read that anything above 3" and your angles are way to severe. Doing the 4.0 upgrade on our YJ using a 99 XJ driveline. Just can't seem to find the &$%^%$ engine brackets!!!!

You try rowing an NP435 as a daily driver and see what you think. It's a strong 1 ton truck trans with a long throw and very slow shifting; not very fun. Or try a non-OD auto trans as a daily driver and highway commuter and see what you think. The man came back twice and specifically said he wants an auto so it's all moot. The AX15 is a decent trans and we already tried that, he said no.

I've got an extra AW4 here I'll sell you. It even comes with an attached 4.0L, 231 w/ SYE, Cherokee, and spare 231 ...

BTW a stick aint that bad once u get the trans to slide past the pilot bushing. oh wait thats my rig haha

Ya know, just make it easy. Swap in a GM 4.3L V6 and 700R4. Yeah, the wiring mess will be a pain, but you'll have plenty of power and won't have to buy no stinkin' adapter..... .... okay, I wasn't being serious, don't flame me But, I'd have to agree a decent 700R4 is a good swap if you must have overdrive. I'm not up on what Jeep transmissions are what, so I can't offer any advice there. Dave G

And Josh.... NP435/T18/T19 even an NV4500 is a pain in the rear to drive on a daily driver. I wish my Chevy had a short throw shifter badly sometimes lol.
