POR 15 works very good on rust. I have not used blackcote before I like chassis coat from eastwood.

I used the POR on my CJ frame. I really liked it. But I didn't have it long enough to say how it works long term. I did use the top coat over it, and I hated it. Waste of time and money because if you wheel the frame gets dirty anyway, plus it didn't adhere to the POR very well for me.

This looks like something that you would apply if you were doing a frame off resto job. I have learned from living up north in PA that the best stuff to use on a yearly basis is go old oil and rust inhibitor. We used to have to oil our vehicles t keep the salt from rotting the sheet metal out. Done once a year proved very effective. I can get the proper mix and list of materials, I would suggest this as an alternative, unless you are going to the extent of a complete frame off project.

The list is small, use NEW oil only! You can use either chain saw bar lube or 50W oil thinned with KEROSENE, not Gasoline! Usually a 50/50 mix, but always lean more to less kerosene and more oil. Using a garden sprayer with the orifice bored out a little works well. The key is to get into all those little areas that like to trap water and crud so some holes will need to be drilled, but only big enough to poke the sprayer nozzle into. A down side to this is for a bout 50 miles or so after you spray, you will have a smoke screen behind you, but once the oil burns off the exhaust your good to go. This is a tried and proven method. Of course the EPA doesn't like this for more than one reason, But it does work and will help your rig last longer. I would not suggest doing this in your driveway if you live in an area with a HOA!!

I know of several friends that have used the POR-15 on any thing from a 65 Mustang, to trucks and Jeeps to old farm trailers. Every thing I have heard about it is good, they also said dont worry about topcoating it, and wear clothing you dont want to keep as it will not wash out. Oh yea...GLOVES, it sticks to skin very well.

We used POR15 when I worked in a body shop. It works great on rust! We painted over it, and never had a problem with it. Do wear gloves or you will be wearing this stuff on your fingers for a week
