No, there isn't any chatting in the members area, it all happens out here in the open. I think folks have gone into hibernation since the VA4WDA Annual Trail Ride. I guess we gotta stir things up.

Are you talking about the Boy Scout one?
My group will be there. Currently throwing about 300'. Got to make some mods to the arm and add some weight.
Currently we are a 12' arm with 1000#'s of steel plate weight.

Yes, the one at Bayport Scout Reservation. I will be there with some of the boys from Cub Scout Pack 303.
Troop 303 will be bring their trebuchet in on my 18' trailer. I cannot remember how big the arm is 14' perhaps? With 800lbs of weight I understand they got 300'+ in testing this past weekend.
Note for everyone...this is open to the general public, it's free to watch, they will sell food on site. Chunkin' starts at 1 pm. It's about a 1:45 to 2 hour drive from here.

Sounds good. My sons Troop 28 out of Poquoson will be there with ours on my 16' Dove Tail trailer.
The thing is so tall now that it almost hits power lines. We are about 13' off of the ground. Good thing max vehicle height is 13'6".
If you see our guys there, ask the leader named Bubba Jones to show you the video of the Arm Breakage we had at a summer festival in POQ throwing watermelons. Snapped an arm in 2 pieces and threw them straight up about 300' in the air. It was pretty hard to know where to run to get out of they way. Spectacular failure.
The boys have really enjoyed building and operating the device.
