My buggy is complete other than the steering system which has been driving me nuts. It's a Trail-gear 2.25" double ended ram w/ PSC hoses, stock XJ power steering pump w/ mods for more flow and pressure, and I've tried two steering valves - one Char-Lynn and one Danfoss.
Here's my issue, with the wheels off the ground, everything works fine, after bleeding - no bubbles in the reservoir with engine running or engine off. When I drop the tires onto the ground, the steering initially is fingertip - works awesome, but after a couple of turns it gets tight and basically locks up. If you leave the engine running without any steering input for a minute or so, you can turn the wheel easily a bit, then it gets tight and locks up again.
As for plumbing, I've got R&L going to the cylinder, the pressure line from the pump going into "P" and "T" the return to the reservoir. I've tried both steering valves and have the same issue. I'm lost and have no idea what to try next, please help!
