And 3 - Highly unlikely we will do a clean up run, but it is possible. I'm not sure how much info is out there as to why this is difficult to accomplish these days. It starts with a simple thing...gas prices. It costs a lot to go up there within a few weeks of the actual trail ride. Insurance - Oak Ridge requires an insurance policy for us to do this. It would cost about $500-600, plus a couple portapotties, and we would have to convince them to waive the camping fee. This is how it was explained to me. Hope that helps clarify. At this point, we will be better off asking anyone who has a chain saw to please bring it with them on the trail the first day. I can understand all that. I was just thinking that, as far as I know, there probably haven't been too many vehicles on the trails since W4H. The crazy storms they've had in that area over the last few months coupled with a summer's worth of growth makes me think we could be driving up to a jungle. As for the costs, any way we could get the VA4WDA to pitch in a bit? Wasn't there some kind of money available for trail cleanups? I thought I remember hearing something about that.

Norm, if you do get that starter in don't think you did it on your own, there was a road built somewhere that got that done for you. I have been waiting for a government grant to study the effects of procrastination.

We did get one VA4WDA grant. Rules have changed slightly now. Let me know if you are available 9/12-13.
