I'm happy to help stuff goody bags - let me know when and where we are gathering for that one. I'll bring a couple of beers.
I'm happy to sell raffle tickets and help hand prizes to the winners too.
Also, I'll cleanup Sunday too.

Well, if there is beer involved, count me in on goody bags too I'll do whatever I can at the event. I'm afraid to lock myself into anything because I just found out that one of the projects I'm working on is supposed to ship that Friday. Which means I will be working crazy hours up until then to make sure it gets finished so that I can actually go.

Actually, on the helping out with the Annual topic, are we going to do a work weekend before then?

Three things... 1- Thank you for offering to help at the event. But please state which task you are willing to assist with. Everyone always says they will help and leaves it open ended, and then tasks are left undone. See where I'm going with this?
B- We need to pick a place to stuff the goodie bags. Beer is provided if you bring your own to drink. We need a place with a few tables or a place where we can put up lots of tables. I'm wondering if a meeting would be a good time to do this.
And 3 - Highly unlikely we will do a clean up run, but it is possible. I'm not sure how much info is out there as to why this is difficult to accomplish these days. It starts with a simple thing...gas prices. It costs a lot to go up there within a few weeks of the actual trail ride. Insurance - Oak Ridge requires an insurance policy for us to do this. It would cost about $500-600, plus a couple portapotties, and we would have to convince them to waive the camping fee. This is how it was explained to me. Hope that helps clarify. At this point, we will be better off asking anyone who has a chain saw to please bring it with them on the trail the first day.
Now back to the volunteer request. Please everyone, if you can just help out with one small think it makes a difference and lightens the burden on the other volunteers. If we get 4-5 people to give up 10 minutes of their time each to empty a few trash cans at night for example, it sure is easier than one guy trying to do it by himself.

This post was not meant to get those already involved (cooks, guides, registration folks, etc.) to volunteer to do MORE work. Just sayin'.

We could do it Thursday afternoon up at Oak Ridge that way all material received from sponsors makes it in the bag.

I could use some help getting ready for the Annual. The starter is not getting put in by it's self. Will there by any tents for door prizes?

Come on Norm, the starter on the meatbox should be a piece of cake! All you have to do is tell your son to do it What's wrong with your tent? It's even got a little bonus dog door

Norm, if you do get that starter in don't think you did it on your own, there was a road built somewhere that got that done for you.
