Use this not for pics for after action reports, but to offer up suggestions, complaints, or praise so we can modify or keep certain things the same.
We learned a lot of lessons last year and did what we could to make things smoother. Chris and I heard a lot less complaints this year, so I think we are really on the right track.
I will start with some things I noticed and we will change for next year, or discuss if we want a change for next year:
1. The confirmation email with FAQs, directions, and information is too long. Information gets lost and people don't read it. I got a ton of questions, and all the answers were in your confirmation email. So the goal is to shorten that up to half its size and still retain the important info.
2. T-shirts. This event has never offered t-shirts as part of the registration costs. This year there were more people that usual who expressed displeasure that there was no t-shirt in their goodie bag because they thought one was included. So since they never ordered one, we sold out and Chris ordered 20 extra shirts in all the popular men's sizes.
So we can leave it as is, and make it clear as day next year on the registration form and in the email confirmations, or we can include a t-shirt and jack up the registration price $15.
3. Apologies on forgetting the poker hand prizes until halfway through the raffle. We will try to do that first next year.
4. To me the raffle was the perfect size and length of time. Thoughts?
5. This will be a sore spot for many....But there were WAY less children in attendance this year compared to last year. We've heard it from both sides, but again this is a family event and lots of kids aren't coming because this is during school and sports. It was a perfect weekend but I'd still rather have it on labor day weekend.
6. Cursing. Seriously people, the campfire sucked on Saturday night. I witnessed the few women and children who were there get up and leave after only a few minutes because of the vulgar language. You know who you are, and that was the most uncool thing I witnessed all weekend.
7. This was the best trail ride ever! ;D
