It is the same place and camping as the Annual Trail Ride. Go to that section and also to the after action reports forum and check out all the past trail rides. It will give you all the info you need. t4w.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2012tr

It has been awhile since I have been to Oakridge. There has been a ram 1500 up there. Norm has had his TRUCK up there. There has been a good bit of big EB guys up there. It probably has alot to do with the driver and taking it slow.

looks like a great place to wheel. do you guys think a fullsize bronco can do the trails without to much body damage. all i see is jeeps We have had Suburbans and full size pickups out on the trails, it just takes them a little longer to maneuver. Looky here at the VA4WDA Annual Trail Ride information. Same location, similar event... t4w.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=2012trAnd then look here, especially the last line which is new: "Some of the trails at Oak Ridge are not full-size vehicle friendly. The trees are VERY tight in places. We will do everything in our ability to accommodate you full size vehicle owners on as many of the trails as possible. Body damage to full size vehicles is a common occurrence." We love full size vehicles, we love full size vehicle owners, too. We want them to love us back. So we want to give you the best information possible on what to expect at Oak Ridge. The brush is really bad in some places - some people can't take "trail pinstriping". There is some tight maneuvering through the trees. Will a full size vehicle fit down every trail? Yes. Could your vehicle take a funny bounce off a rock, or slide on a wet trail and hit a tree? Definately. Vehicles, no matter what the size hit trees every trip to Oak Ridge. Sometimes it is just plain driver error. Sometimes folks need a spotter to fit through things - make sure you ask for one. A couple seasoned Oak Ridge veterans have taken their full size vehicles to Oak Ridge and have come back with dented doors and body panels. Here is what to expect: Brush = Heavy in some areas Trees = Close in some areas Fun = Lots in every area If you have never been to Oak Ridge, perhaps you could ride with someone on your first trip, or you could ride for a portion of the day, then grab your own vehicle if you want to try it yourself. I hope this helps.
