Mike Day (Does not follow directions well) 25. Michele Drews 26. Fred Sanborn 27. Taylor Johnson 28. Steve Anderson 29. Richard Noggin
Our current insurancy policy runs out Sept 1. I am proposing our club schedule a members only run at Oak Ridge Estate sometime before then. Depending on interest and participants we could join with another club and do a joint member's only run to help with costs. The break down would be approximately as follows and is for an estimated 20 vehicle registrations: Each registration would be about $80-$90. Insurance for 2 days = $500 Camping per vehicle = $30 Land use per vehicle = $30 Portapotty = $75/each potty Thoughts? I'm gonna throw a date out there for July 27-28 just to start a discussion on this. This could also be our club picnic, and we could use club funds to help defray some of the costs.

I would be all for it as I have had to miss most events so far this year due to my work schedule. However, the proposed weekend wouldn't work for me due to an already scheduled family event. I like the idea!

I like the idea and think we should go for it. That way we actually get something for the money we pay in dues every year.

The idea here is to not get too close to the ATR, but still have it during the summer so school age kids could go if desired; and still remain within the limitations of our insurance. That makes it tough to plan and find a date that is good for most and still work around other scheduled events. Almost impossible to do actually.
Tony, that's precisely what I was thinking. We pay dues all year and I'd like to do something with it in addition to a yearly picnic and Christmas party.

This is the same weekend as the VA4WDA Virginia 4x4 Expo. Maybe an early August date would work.

Perfect idea, Keith. Did you really mean only 20 vehicles?? That means we can do ALL the fun stuff. I can get at least 10 from my Bronco group.....

What is all of the insurance stuff? I'm not sure how trail rides at Oak Ridge work as I've never been to one. Would there be camping? I could prolly get a good group of guys from KMA to go if that would be ok? What would be the cost per vehicle and what would said cost cover?

Sonofa.... I'm gonna ask some of you to go back and reread my original post. No, KMA and the Broncos club aren't invited. This is a T4W member's only run. If you aren't a member of T4W, or a prospective member, then you can't go. I also proposed that the club fund part of this club run. After all, what's the point of having a club if we don't do things like this? I have no intention of coordinating an event for anyone other than T4W members. It won't be like the annual trail ride. It's just camping and wheeling....THAT'S IT!!! I specifically listed a mandatory camping price per registration, so yes camping is involved. Insurance is required at Oak Ridge Estate. I threw out an estimate using 20 vehicles just to get a cost estimate. If we didn't meet that then we could ask another bonafide club if they wanted to do a joint run. I threw out a date to get the discussion going, it isn't set in stone and it was meant to spark a discussion. I could do August 3-4. I am not available in July except for the 27th and 28th. We have to see if there's enough interest to do this, and if we can all agree on a date. Necro, go to the first post and READ what I wrote, it has the answers to your questions. I'm gonna go on a bit more of a rant here....this club doesn't do enough events as a club. I'm trying to give this place a jump start. I'm kind of tired of paying dues and not doing anything. Get mad at me if you want, but it's the truth. We can do better. I hope so because I'm about to give up.

By the way, if someone wanted to coordinate an open to all event at oak ridge instead, then please feel free. I would definitely go, but I'm not going to set one up of that magnitude.

Lets call it a T4W members only clean up. That is usually $10 for the rental of the porta potty and we can clean an wheel for the weekend.
I agree with Keith, we do one thing as a club and that is the Annual. We use to do day trips to the beach, weekends to the GW, trips to off road places. We don't need to make this difficult, all we need to do is post an idea like this, decide where and when to meet and go. This isn't hard! I would love to go to the GW for a weekend. Now that I don't travel as much I'm looking for things to do. Any idea is good.
Oh, we are always looking for more members so if you want to go to a T4W only event please join the club. I can't ever remember anyone being turned away or not voted in.

You go big boy. I like the first weekend in August also. I cant do the July dates due to work. I am with Keith on this. We as a club need to get our (SH!T) together and get involved and do things. We as a club are headed in the wrong direction and need to get this turned around before its too late.
As for the other clubs you are more than welcome to come out to the annual in Sept and have a great time.
Lets go wheelin.

Agree with you 100% Keith! You pick a date and I am in. The reason I joined the club 10 years ago was because we went out and did things as a group. Somehow, we have lost that level of interest within the club.

So how does August 3-4 sound for everyone? I'm leaning in that direction from what I'm hearing here. When we decide on this, we can start taking roll call and confirm with Oak Ridge, Trail Experience and our insurance that this is all good.
