Good evening, do any members do any formal racing; ec4wda region b, line mountain, ecors? I'm looking to start racing next year and am searching for a local club to help support the cause. I know ec4wda requires membership in a club, and I would rather belong to a local club but not sure if t4w has any members that race. I know there is no racing around here, other than bodacious, and I'm not looking to race there. I'm just seeing what involvement other club members have. Thanks.

Welcome! That is an interesting question. I'm not sure I know of anyone who races. Are you looking for a club to sponsor you, as in the club name/help with the truck build/cheering section? Or are you looking for all that and financial sponsorship, to? I am not familiar with the rules of those race series.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm mainly looking for a club, closer to my house, which I would be racing under the club name. Ec4wda requires membership in a club and I just can't see joining a club in pa when I live in Virginia beach. That's the main reason, but also looking for parts swapping, etc., being around like minded people. I'm doing all of my own fab.

Can you share more info about the racing series and your build? Any web links available?

Web sites are: lm4w.org and ec4wda.org/ region b
Ec4wda has a few regions, covering mid- Atlantic and Ohio. Ecors has events up and down the east coast. I think Georgia, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, and a few other states. I anticipate racing primarily in pa, that's where most of the events are located, outside of ecors.
Also do a YouTube search of line mountain 7 miler, that should be a good idea of the racing. Eastern version of baja, kind of. Ec4wda is more of a fair style racing. Tuff truck style but faster track racing. Ecors is similar to line mountain.
I'm currently building a 1987 bronco 2, but also have a 1986 cj 7. I picked up the bronco 2 locally, had a good start/ chop top, cut fenders when I got it. Has a terrible motor knock and is fuel injected. Motor has good compression 2.9, so I'm just gonna beat it. Would like to find a carborated ford 2.8 so I could run full propane. I'm putting in a full roll cage, welded to the frame, with seats and belts to the cage. I also have to do gears, and chase down some wiring gremlins. Would also like to do long travel radius arms, looking for suspension drop without increasing ride height.
The jeep is on hold for now, cheaper to build the bronco. I had someone building the jeep but the underhanded dealings of the person doing the work, cost me a lot of money and time. So it's parked for a while.

Thanks again for the welcome, but I'll probably just end up joining a club up north. I'll just hang around the forum for parts swapping, etc. thanks.
