Well, my very first annual, and I had a blast! I took a limited number of pictures, because I only have a 16MB photo card and could only get so many good shots. I'll ask for a bigger card for my Bday. Had my ego grow a little bit by my ability to be fearless to try anything (within reason). We had one big F**d break his 3rd member but he was back on the trails the next day with a YJ. I also incured some carnage because of a certain renegade rig that just decided to misbehave the entire trip. But now I have matching fenders, and a definite reason to chop them up. ;D Many thanks to Rick Blaylock, his wife and Debbie for being awesome trail guides, having more patience than saints as people played and got stuck on the rocks, and got lost. I can't wait for next year, the Toy will be even bigger next year. Here's the few digital shots I got. I'll also share the video my spotter/passenger Chris got, as soon as I can find a free video hosting site. Till then, Enjoy!!! photobucket.com/albums/v284/Cory23435/T4W%20Annual/

I would also like to chime in here... Thanks to all you folks that helped plan/set up/cook/clean-up after this once again outstanding event. I also want to recognize the many trail guides that HAD to take ALL the by-passes instead of flogging their vehicles up the hills as some of us did so they could still guide us. We had a great time! Thanks Scott

I am glad to hear that everyone had a great time. It makes all the work that Sandy, Jason and I did for the last five months worth while.
I want to thank everyone again that volunteered to be Trail guides, Cooks and Clean-up. Without you this would not have happened.
I want to again thank all that were involved with helping Don out of the woods and saving his life. Job well done.
Sandy and I are now going to take a week off and then start working on next years Trail Ride. We had so much fun this year that we have decided to do it again next year.
My question to all of you is... Do you think that 240 vehicles were too many?
Jesse

My question to all of you is... Do you think that 240 vehicles were too many? Jesse Yes and No. While it would be nice to have a relatively small, tight-knit group and applying quality over quantity, less would be less stress. Smaller groups equals more trails covered, and overall less congestion within. Plus of having a larger crowd, means more sponsor support and a larger raffle, more rig variety, and more and most importantly, the increased variable of comraderie. If we can shuffle over 4,000 Jeeps through Oak Ridge during a weekend at Camp Jeep, we can surely handle more registered vehicles on this trip. However, the size of the field is another issue entirely. Just my humble $35 + One can of Heartburn.

My question to all of you is... Do you think that 240 vehicles were too many? Jesse I'm torn on that. With 240 rigs, there was a lot more waiting around and we could have probably hit more trails. I still had a good time. but, on the other hand, we probably made a lot more money then in past years, alot more people got to experience the event. I think if it was capped at 200, we would have the better balance.

Yep, I wanted to shout a big Thanks! to everyone that sacrificed to make it fun for me and my family! Jesse, I don't know if 240 was too many, but I do think that it was enough.
Thanks for the pics Chele and Cory.
And thanks again Lyle for leading the group I was in.

My question to all of you is... Do you think that 240 vehicles were too many? I think we got lucky this year. Very few breakdowns, and most all the groups moved at the same pace. Not much running up on each other and waiting for trail damage/repairs. If we were to have had a bad year (all it would have taken was some rain during the week) and we could have all spent the weekend waiting on Finley Ridge....and waiting....and waiting. I think capping the regestrations at 175-200 would make for good balance and keep the probability for sitting and waiting lower. Biggest issue I think we had this year was Porta-Potties. 7 (3 in the lower field, 2 in uppper field, 2 in staging area) are just NOT ENOUGH! They were putrid by Saturday morning...We need to nearly double the count in the camp area. But we were only doing short trips to the easier trails for Camp Jeep...much less likelyhood of getting stuck or broken. All in all it was a great weekend, the weather was super-duper. The organizers did a great job of keeping everything together. Trail guides (except for the tailgunner on 7 and Kenny) did a great job. Dinner was pulled off without a hitch (atleast from a participants point of view) and though the Carolinas group only won 1 prize amongst us...It was a great raffle. P.S. Jesse, what happend to the Hi-Lift banner that I told you I HAD to have back???
