Took us awhile to get back, had to stop a few times. Nothing major, and no break downs. Glad to finally meet all of you, and hopefully I'll have an orange plate on my rig before you know it! And Don, thanks again for those battery terminals!!

Made it back mid-afternoon after a somewhat nervous drive back. The XJ didn't want to move in reverse on Trail 3 (even with some persuading from BroncoBilly's EB!). The rear 8.25 seemed to be bound up somehow. It would go forward so that's what I did and it "fixed" itself. Hmm. Developed a pin-hole leak on the high pressure power steering line while awaiting my turn at Skinny Rock. Duct tape stopped that and Advance Auto PDQ'ed a new one to C-ville. Installed Saturday morning. Thanks for the lift Billy! No more problems with that.
My girlfriend Brenda had a great time and was pretty much in awe of all the action, teamwork and organization of everything! Thanks to all who made another great Annual Trail Ride come off seamless!

Got home no problem. Thanks for all the fun. Broken stuff: front side marker (failed state inspection last week anyhow) the wifes digital camera (ran over it then was returned to me down the trail) one winch controller tore in half (ran over it also after i was warned to look out for it) Andy did find my lens cover that was lost at camp on skinny rock trail.

We made it home OK. (So did Craig's YJ). We were very lucky, our broken(?) stuff was front license plate that used to be attached to winch rollers...didn't know THAT was missing! Barely squeeked through tech inspection because of it. ;D Allen's group found it somewhere on the property - looked like it had been on the ground for exactly 2 months. Also had that elusive fuel injection flooding issue crop up 3 times. So since that hasn't fully broken yet, it doesn't count. Also Mike - you can't run over your camera if you leave it in the tow rig...2 days in a row! BTW, it's just Oak Ridge folks! What are ya doin' out there? We had a 1-1/4 rollover in our group, plus busted transfer cases, brake lines, driveshafts, shocks and tires. This was supposed to be an easy run! Looking forward to April!

Well I was only able to run Friday as I blew my engine on the way home Friday night. Pulling up a hill on 29N the check engine light comes on and before I could pull off there is a loud metal snapping sound, a bit of grinding and everything goes dead. Had it towed to my mechanic where it sits waiting to be looked at today. If the engine needs replacing, I am thinking of getting a new Jeep instead. Would mine be worth selling on the open market as a parts Jeep instead of shipping it to the junk yard? The lift, gears, rear axle, locker, tires, wheels and tire mount are all just a year old. Still, I had fun and will be there in the spring one way or another.

OUCH! That stinks. Is it a 4.0? Can you do a swap yourself? A used 4.0 can be had for <$400. At least you got to wheel 1day I guess.

Nice quote from a Scrambler guy (soon moving to Michigan) from the SOA forums...
"...I'm going to have to work hard to find an event any better than this one in MI. I'm really going to miss the event and the group of Scramblers/friends."

My group made it home safe and sound Sunday after about 8 hours of driving. As usual, we all had a great time running the trails and enjoying the activities provided at the campgrounds. I have to learn to pace myself with all that food...and thanks to all the Trail Guides again this year.
Looking forward to the Inaugural Run too, if we can make it.

Chris, I can barely change my oil let alone my engine. Now if you want an A/V control system installed, that I can handle.
