I had a blast! Thank you to everyone who made this possible! Damage this year was limited to a broken D35 shaft on the quarry trail hill climb. I made it all the way to the top, but hit that one slab rock and slid onto the gas pedal and hopped it a little bit. well... that was that. But, on saturday, i made it up upper 3 under my own power... including a small winch tug at the top Next year, i will make sure my PA speaker can ba mounted on the outside of the jeep for the raffle ;D

Thanks to everyone who helped organize this event. I had a great time. Special thanks to everyone who helped get me off the trail and back home after I broke my axle (Kaleb, I owe you some tie downs, send me a message or something so I can get those to you). I hope to be able to join you guys again on another ride soon. So is the Cedar branch going to part of the recovery equipment you'll be carrying J/K It was great to see just how quickly we could get the jeep off the trail and as easily as we did. Hope your repair was straight forward without a hitch too.... Yeah man get the jeep fixed up and lets go wheeling again.. tim or as Jesse said it tim/Macgyver

A review from one of the Hard Rock Crawlers out of MD...
What a great trip. The VA4WDA and Tidewater Four Wheelers did an excellent job organizing and hosting this event. As usual the trails at Oak Ridge were fun.
We arrived Friday evening and stayed the night with Scuba's brother, which is conviently located along side the A trail. Saturday was a beautiful morning. We arrived on-site, signed in, unloaded the Jeep, and lined up. We ran the trails with a club out of Richmond . They were a great group to wheel with. Our guide, Jerry, set the perfect pace, allotted enough time for everyone to play on the obsticles, and did a great job of communicating with the folks on the trail.
We stared out on the A trail and had the opportunity to play on several rock obsticles. It was the perfect opporutnity to really test out the new locker. In the process of covering half of the trails at Oak Ridge, we got to zig and zag across Z-Ditch, and on the way out of the trail we blew the lower radiator hose....hey Scuba, What's that noise?......A ten minute fix and we were on our way.
Back at camp, the VA folks did an excellent job with the food and raffle. No one went hungry! The raffle began at 6:00 with the kids raffle of RC trucks---what a cool idea---the kids tickets didn't cost anything and those who didn't win the RC trucks got a small prize. The entire raffle lasted 4-5 hours with $17,000 worth of give-a-ways.
We also had a wonderful visit with John Hunt (Big Dogs). He is an interesting and engaging person to talk with.
We came in as strangers and left with many new friends. This was the perfect family friendly venue. __________________ ---Donna---

Sandy and I are very pleased that everyone had a great time this year and hope to see everyone again next year. I want to let everyone know that we made $6,500 for VA4WDA this year and hope to do more next year. With Sandy and her helpers beating the bushes for more sponsors, we should have bigger and better prizes for next year. It will be hard to match 4 sets of tires and 4 winches though. So start saving now for that raffle. Look for the registration to be on this site and VA4WDA site the end of July.
Have fun wheeling and be safe out there.
