Yep, we made it back ok too with no 'breakage' but a little bit of damage. I did drive it home with no problems. Mostly just learned a couple things. I did manage to bend the tire rod, not sure when or how, but it was just a slight bend, but enough to throw the alignment off. And last, I did not like the way the using a tow bar felt on the way up, so I had Cheryl drive the Exploder back and I just drove the TJ. Was a much more relaxing drive that way. I was a bit nervous guiding the first day, but the second day I settled down and it was a lot of fun. I love it when Boucher says it's only Oak Ridge. Those trails get harder every year to me it seems, and there's more breakage every year. Lots of good traction and broken shafts/u-joints this time. And one hydro-locked engine. And thanks to all the people that organized the event and planned for it all year. Especially that raffle and prizes, those really make the money.

Had a great time. Thanks to all who made it a kick A** weekend. Don you are the man! We had a little problem on the way home with the law. It was about benign stoped on the shoulder on an exit. I will let Jim tell the story. Besides that we had a good trip home. I bent the axial on my Rubi so it was a wobbly trip home but it made it! Also my buddy snapped a D35. Thanks to all who helped him get it off the trail. we trailered it home. He got a set of used ones at Oakridge so tonight it is time to fix him. ;D

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed myself this year. It seems that each year it improves. The people really make this event.
I'm almost sorry it was over so fast. I feel like I'm rushed the whole time because there are so many people to see and talk to and so much to do. I hope that next year I can get there the earliest I possibly can.
Thank you to the organizers and especially the land owners who give us a unique opportunity to hold an event of this nature "locally".
Oh...and I need some new TRE's and a drag link....no big deal damage this year...and I only got that because I was aiming without a spotter. Duh.

Sandy and I would like to thank everyone that took their time to be a guide, cook the food, stock the toilets with paper, burn wood on the fire, buy tickets to win raffle prizes, go out and get those raffle prizes and much much more....
We had a good time again this year and look forward to heading it up again next year. I truly believe that 250 is our max. I didn't hear any complaints about being bunched in the woods. As a matter of fact I didn't hear but two complaints all weekend and that was for the language late at night. But that was taken care of.
A special thanks to those that helped retrieve broken vehicles out of the woods and those that gave up trailer space to help haul them home. I had many first timers come up to me and let me know that the people at the event went out of their way to assist when ever possible. I let them know it is a "Wheeling thing" and I think they started to get it.
We hope that everyone had a good time and made it home safely. See you all again next year.

We made it back fine yesterday afternoon, no problems. Took our time coming back 460 and stopped for a nice lunch, and a stretch break. Towing up and down 29 and the section of 460 west of Crewe were about as entertaining as I suspected with a small block and 3.55's, but she pulled every hill going up in fourth, and all but one coming back (I was expecting to have to drop a gear on that hill, it was about ten minutes from where I grew up and it was familiar territory).
No breakage, either. Well, nothing important, I lost a zip tie Friday on a disconnected sway bar link out of pure stupidity and bent up the link. Then again, who needs those anyway? The YJ drove far better without them, on the road and off.
Tatiana and I had an absolute blast with her little YJ. It was a nice improvement over last year, when we had the same Jeep on 31" street tires with a lousy Weber that you had to two-foot any time you wanted to stop. We dug up a pair of used 35's, she rebuilt a Motorcraft 2150 for it that I got a chance to tune the Tuesday before, and it ran like a top all weekend. Not a single problem, the only time she stalled all weekend was on the climb up CJ-5 when I didn't clutch in fast enough when letting off the power. We were the only rig in Keith's all Tidewater and Beltway group without lockers, and we only took one bypass I remember (rocks on 3). She only needed the strap once, on CJ-5, and we have photos showing our front tires on the top of the climb before that -- we just couldn't get up out of the last dip with four occupants and no lockers. Not without some gas, and I didn't want to frag the stock axles. Plus, she walked up as soon as the strap gave me a little traction on the front.
All in all a great trip. The Beltway guys were a blast to wheel with. So were Keith, Chele, Ed, Dave, and Billy, as always. I think Billy picked the best vehicle in the group to snag a ride with after he lost his u-joint strap -- all four in our vehicle shared the same sense of humor, which should scare anyone who knows any of us. ;D

If it were my Jeep I'd do that in a heartbeat. They're concerned with keeping it so they can hook it up to pass inspection ...

Another great Annual! This one was a little expensive... 1. Front shackle mount 2. Rear Driveshaft 3. Front driver's axle 4. Need four trailer tires... At least the winch on the CJ worked.....

Chuck it was a pleasure riding with you and Tatiana and I was glad to meet someone who shares my sense of humor. The trail rides where great and the food and raffle where awesome. Great event and I can't wait to do it again in 08. Thanks to all who volunteered their time to make this event one for the calender for many years to come. Special thanks to Keith Fromme for stepping up and leading our group and for taking me back to my rig at the end of Saturday. Besides the $7 dollar u joint strap my only other carnage where the $150 Oakley sunglasses that where inadvertently left on my trailer and are now MIA.

I had a great time, big thanks to Jesse and Sandy, the cooks did a fantastic job as expected, and the guides (especially Mike + Andy + Norm) did a great job. Now my parents are talking about a Grand Cherokee to wheel... ;D.

Thanks to everyone who helped organize this event. I had a great time. Special thanks to everyone who helped get me off the trail and back home after I broke my axle (Kaleb, I owe you some tie downs, send me a message or something so I can get those to you).
I hope to be able to join you guys again on another ride soon.
