Both my stock sway bar links have broken (the balls separated from their cuffs) and I need to replace them. While I have been happy with using a cotter pin to disconnect them and might just go back with stock ones, I suspect that the way I was holding them up caused the joints to break. Therefor, I am thinking of going with disconnects but am wondering if any are really as easy as they claim. As I know this group is full of opinions, I am interested in hearing your thoughts on the various makes.
Thanks, Steve

Just so you know, when they break, that's where they break. Unless you go to some QD's, new stock ones will do the same thing. I can hear mine pop sometimes when cornering so they may be ready to give up the ghost. But personally I would go with Currie AntiRock.

I like my JKS "Quicker" discos. they're pretty painless, but, if I had it to do over again (and had the money), I'd go with the Currie Anti-Rock system Jonathan mentioned. I think 4x4 group buy has a GB going on that right now.

Stock sway bar link : $11.95 Hmmm, that's not the price I have seen for a dealer replacement part.

One of those Ronco things, Set it and forget it. ;D Actually when mine fail, I'll just go back to running disconnected. Did that from the 1st CJ prerun till after CJ was over. You just need to pay attention a little more.

Where can you find stock replacements for $ 11.95. At that price my decision is easy. After all, with two teenage daughters I am running on a tight Jeep budget.

The only ones I see are for ZJ's. Are they the same?

There are some XJ ones on the same page and on the previous page are some for YJ's. Have Ben measure and compare the links on his YJ and the links on Melis' TJ to see if they are the same. IIRC, what usually goes wrong is the rubber bushing and grommet on the top. You could probably find a replacement. You would be surprised how the same parts are used on the different Jeeps.
Personally if you don't want to pony up the money, just run disco'ed. Then again I don't drive like you. ;D
There is also a liability factor of running disco'ed. If you are in an accident even if it wasn't your fault, there is a high probability you will be held responsible due to the fact that you have disabled some of the suspensions safety features.

I know the YJ and TJ have different links, Ill compare the TJ with the XJ and see how they compare. But I con't have a ZJ/WJ to compare links with. Maybe i can compare Melissa LInks to the pic and find ya a match. BEN

If I remember, don't hold your breath, I can look at the XJ tonight and see if they are the same or similar.
Another thought might be looking at what the actual problem is with your link. I think the top bushing usually blows out. If that is the case see if you can replace those. There really isn't much else to go wrong with them.
