If you want, I can measure the actual tread depth... It might be more like 1/2 tread... (center)

8-9 psi on a bead lock wheel ---> wuss. Drop the fronts to 6 and the rears to 4 and then you'll be talkin'.

I'm considering doing the DIY beadlock kits on whichever of mine get the beefier axles, etc. Can't see the pics of your new bling Keith, unfortunately. Hopefully, you'll be happy with 'em and they perform well.

Yep, was just looking at them there on the site (A to Z) and yes that is a really good price they have on their web site! So that being said...with the 15" version and the Vanco kit, no clearance issues?

Vanco does have an even bigger kit out now though, that requires 16" wheels.

The machined "X" pattern is pretty cool... Don't let them convince you that it's a knurl... I also agree tha they are "kinda" Blingy BUT... for a blingy rim that do look pretty D@mb sweet... How will they hold up against the rocks... What are you looking to air down to? Heeheee, I don't know what they actually call those machined X's, I just made up the knurl part cause I don't know what else to call it. I hope they hold up to the rocks, that's why I bought them. For the radials on it, I'll probably go to 8-9 psi and see what happens. Someday I'll have some Q78s or Krawlers or something and can try lower. Tony, I'll see about getting some pics, but the bolt heads are half recessed. Half the thickness of the heads are sticking out, the other half is recessed. Better than nothing I guess. I have to get them to Joe for a balance, I thought I could get away with no balancing but tonight it was obvious I need some balance. Hey Keith, this is so the bolts aren't side-loaded. They aren't really trying to "recess" them, just make them sit square... Good stuff Keith!

Ok Will, ready for the next project? This one is very inexpensive. The center body mounts on the TJ are getting beat up by rocks pretty good. I was always going to cut the body mounts off, remove the body lift puck, and reweld the mounts up an inch higher. So I made these: Well I didn't exactly make them, SWAG Offroad cuts the brackets and sent them to me, I welded it all up. I'm pleased with the welding job, now if I can just get the welds as nice when I weld vertically on the frame I'll be happy. These are the offending mounts. They'll be cut off, the body lift removed, and the new ones rewelded about 1 1/4" higher. It's on the middle ones, the others are untouched since they're so close to the wheels. He sells them in a set of 6, but he'll sell you just two if you don't want or need to do them all. They'll also act as a skid and keep any load off the body mount bolts. I'll give it a shot, if I can't get the stick welder to make a nice bead vertically, I'll tack them and have Dave or someone finish it off for me.

Did you ever get the mount done? I want a pick of it. Oh and will a set of stock rubi wheels still fit with the big brake kit? Are you still running the stock rear seat or did you get the rear to match the fronts?

Are you still running the stock rear seat or did you get the rear to match the fronts? Yes, stock Rubi wheels fit with the brake kit. You only need 15x8 wheels to clear. You may be surprised to know they are Explorer calipers and rotors like on our wives' junk. I am still using the factor rear seat for it's fold and tumble capabilities and it's ease of removal. I never got around to the mounts, they are still sitting on the workbench. I doubt I will get to them, I was just about to offer them to Will. Why the questions? If you are thinking about this Jeep, you need to call me ASAP. A Marine from Quantico who just returned from Iraq is on his way here at 10 with pocket full of money.
