Ok went and looked at it, and to be honest its in a lot better shape than i had hoped. Took a few pics to get this thread started. havnt decided on if this is gonna be a beater DD or a new trail rig yet.      Lot of miles but the jeep doesnt look too far gone. I cant wait to start tearin it up. ;D |

i agree, free is my favorite price... and the jeep bug bit me again (hard this time) so ive spend a couple thousand dollars allready in my mind on what i wanna do to this rig ... lol  |

well i know the 2.8 is better off as a boat anchor but it "supposedly" runs and the tranny "needs work" but its something to tinker with, besides cory has experience with the 904 tranny so hes gonna help with it. boy the city of portsouth is gonna LOVE this... |

Dave (core) still planning on me using the trailer this week? I got a long free afternoon monday and tuesday is free for me after 5 pm. lemme know whats good for you and the trailer.

OK, got her home, moved around in the yard a bit (dang thing is heavy when your moving it alone... ;D ) and i took several pics today, will post later.
Right now i am charging the battery (probably Dead DEAD) but it hooked it up to my TJ and she turned over a few times, so at least i know its not siezed up. ;D
I will be working all day today and probably some tomorrow if anyone wants to come over and help or tell me what to do (Paul and Jenn: you two can come over as long as Jenn shows me what to do ;D )

ITS ALIVE! i had to swap my TJ battery into the XJ and then she fired right up. Definatly needs a tune up (i need help, never done carbs b4) and the tranny seems a little ruff but i got it to move under her OWN power.
Just doesnt want to stay runnin at idle, probably old gas and tune up time are my guesses.
but dang, free? and it runs? sweetness!
