transmission is slipping more than likely, in reverse. check your fluid pressures in the tranny. then check the tightness of the reverse servo in it. I'll show you how to do that next time. That involves getting 4 new quarts of atf btw... (yeah, troubleshooting autos bites). As for the gasket slipping off... that shouldn't have happened. those bolt holes in it, are there for a reason... Always good to reposition the gasket before you torque (I use that term VERY loosely when in reference to tranny pan bolts) them down. Annnnd... I told you all from the start when you GOT the derned thing... check the fuel jets in the carb!!! but noooo, don't listen to me. They probably need to be cleaned/bored out. Common problem found with the Carter BBDs as well! p.s. I have pics of nearly everyone's jeeps. mine, yours, keiths. sorry matt, you had to leave early, so no pic of you!! btw adam, i'll snag my dad's SUV floor jack next time. But next chance you get, i recommend at least a cheapo jack/stands combo from wally world. 40 bucks!!

I'm still officially swamped through Tursday. Saw you were looking for a fuel pressure gauge on another thread -- did you find one? We have a 10psi vacuum/fuel pressure gauge that should do a fine job of diagnosing a carbureted vehicle, I just have to find a chance to get by and actually loan the darned thing to you, or get it to someone who can. We use it primarily for vacuum, but I have a second vacuum gauge we can use for a week or so, so we're covered there. Anyone going over to Adam's during the week to mess with this thing? Keith, I could probably drop it off with Cheryl if you're going to make it out that way before I will ... I also drive past Cory's every day on the way to work and back. I'll try and remember to throw one in the car tonight so I'll have it with me. Once fuel delivery is solved, did you guys get a chance to throw a meter on the electric choke wire to see why it's not pulling off? Edit 5/4: I've got it in my car, just need to find a chance to get it out there.

How come nobody got a shot of the 4 quarts of tranny fluid leaking out? ;D I'm just glad that was the side Adam was on when the bolts were put back in!

Alas... she is gone. Between no time and even less "extra funds" I had to let her go to another Jeeper who will give her a good home...
