Okay... I'm still hacking away at the CJ.. went 3 link/coilover up front.. moved front axle forward about 8-9 inches and am installing full hydro steering.. that should take care of the approach angle... wheelbase is now 108".... that's Scott's YJ in the background.. it's a beast!

We measured for new front driveshafts so as soon as the income tax check gets here I'll be calling High Angle and cha chinging for a new shaft. I don't know about confindence.. it's more like credit card debt ;D

Hey BESRK... If you wouldn't mind could you or would you be able to post a few shots of your suspension... I'm trying to get a few Ideas for future references... (After asking for Ideas and advice from a few people and reading up on Coils-Vs-Leafs I think that I'm going to go with coils on my 82 and leafs on my 84). But, if you wouldn't mind posting a few pics of the suspension that would be highly appreciated.... Thanks: Rich

Been a busy winter.. on the last run I made with Big Lime I sheared off the rear of the tranny, bent a front leaf spring (RE 1.5 SOA) and twisted my front long spline driveshaft.. So, figured that was as good a time as any to do some more upgrades. Replaced the tranny (Turbo 350), picked up a winch, made my own shifter, moved my seat back, pulled the steering column out a little, did a front 3 link coilover, converted to full hydro steering and ordered a 1350 front shaft.... New wheelbase is 108" Full Hydro.. yeah baby! Driver's side Y link.. Working out my M10000 mounting... Decent Approach Angle.. New Homemade Shifter.. New Steering Column Mount.. lots of comfy room!

How's come that rear susp. is moving more freely than the front?

I set the front up a little bit stiffer 175/300 pound springs and the rear uses 175/250 pounders. We're still messing with primary and secondary rates to get 'em dialed in. The pic is a little deceiving, it actually is fairly balanced. I also have 16" shocks in the rear and 14" shocks up front so I can afford to have the rear flex a little bit more...

Looks good (front looks to be a little stiff)... I'm jealous!!!! I gotta a question.. I have the chance to buy a Hydro assisted steering system... is it worth it?... It says it's good up to 40" tires using the stock pump. The guy is only asking $350 for it. (Gear box, actuator?, lines etc) Only thing stock is the pump like I said.
