You know you will only be 2.5 hours from Tellico. I say flat tow the Jeep, pick up the trailer, then go wheeling.

Keith, pretty nice trailer, nice axles. G rated tires are the way to go, but you'll not like it when replacements are due. As it sits, I think the front is cranked up pretty good, explains the rear squat. It should level out nicely. I find interesting the framing design, this one has exterior C-channel (10 in?) with C-channel crossmembers. I wonder how much body twist there is when you get on uneven ground. I remember a selling point from Kauffman was that they run a 4x4 square tube the center length of the flatbed, acting as a tortion bar. Maybe it's not a huge deal, but they made it a point to me. All said, looks like a nice trailer, at least running nice axles and tires.
So, did you make it home with it today?
Fran

When the day comes, I plan to upgrade my 'E' - rated China made tires. Pretty impressive when one blows loaded at 65-70 mph. Fortunately, that's only happened once in the last four years.

So, did you make it home with it today? Fran I did, it's been a long day. Left at 7 got home at 9:30 tonight. So far so good. There is some twist in it while empty. It appears that it wants a load on it, as it would stiffen it up if that makes sense. 2 of the tires are a little flat spotted and worn, so eventually I'll need a couple replacements. I can get by for a while though. Chris, how much are they? I came home with a little bit of extra cash because the brakes aren't working as he said. They're on there, and look ok, but there's a break in the wiring somewhere; my controller can sense if there's a connection or not, and it's not getting one. There's some kind of box mounted on the tongue that the main harness goes in to, then another harness comes out and goes to all the lights. Not sure what that is or if it has anything to do with it, never seen one before. The toolbox is nice, but it needs some reinforcement, it's bolted through the back down low and it's trying to twist forward at the top and pull the bolts through. Easy fix.

Welcome to the gooseneck ranks...!!!! ;D ;D Now when is the first run to Crozet so you can practice narrow roads and tight manuevers, or going up to Gore has a nice narrow road too. You know towing to Oakridge doesn't count with all the wide nice space... lol. Look forward to seeing it, maybe have to stop on the way home from work to check it out. Fran

Sure! Feel free, weather permitting I'll be out there with my test light and soldering iron. I figure I have 3 days before I have to take it to Ed's or I'll get my nice HOA letter.
