I'd been thinking about making a new 8.8 cover out of some of the leftover 1/4" I should have laying around when the Bronco's done, but that wouldn't be for a bit yet ... make a good little weekend project, though, and if you beat me to it you could probably sell 'em for a decent little markup.

It's a TJ. Speedo pickup is in the t-case. I believe the tone ring, which was on the factory limited slip we replaced with Detroit locker, was for ABS sensing. Basically ready for install, minus breather/brake splitter block bolt. The D35 is too small, may use insert if I can't locate one. Parts stores I've called haven't carried them. It's going in tomorrow.

It's a TJ. Speedo pickup is in the t-case. I believe the tone ring, which was on the factory limited slip we replaced with Detroit locker, was for ABS sensing. Ford trucks 91 and earlier only used the tone ring for rear ABS. 92 and up trucks also use it as the vehicle speed sensor to run the electronic instrument cluster and all that junk. ;D Either way, no need for it under a Jeep, so it can either be left in and unplugged, or pulled (and the hole blocked in the housing if it was an ABS housing). Lookin good guys! Hope it's going in now.

Here's the game plan-8.8 goes in jeep tomorrow a.m. and D30 comes out and gets stripped for ARB/gears install. Possibly start on ARB install/gear set up. Gotta entertain relatives from out of town this weekend, might be able to enlist help (they can bring b#ers-just kidding!). I wnat this in jeep by Friday, still need to order SYE and driveshaft, fix missing insert on t-case skid, fix engine skid cross member and do SYE when it comes in. Which inturn will need upper adjustable control arms installed and pinion angle tweaked so Jay, you probably won't make the trail ride! Don't worry-we'll post up another one when we get pur junk together! And oh yea-gears need to be broken in as well!! Anybody got a breather bolt for an 8.8? ;D

I'm trying to get out of work to help out. As for the trip, I know proper break-in is necessary . I can't wait to see it action... And I'm SURE there will be plenty of oportunities to test it out. Not a rush... I'm just happy to finally have all the parts in Dave's garage so it can be worked on. ;D

I don't have a spare breather handy, but if I recall, isn't it NPT? If so, I wouldn't use a factory breather anyway -- NPT to barb, and then a breather hose up front to the firewall where it should be. ;D All four of my breathers are getting relocated high up front on mine as it goes back together ...

Probably just quicker to make one out of a bolt and weld a tube on it for hose to attach to. I don't have any extra breather bolts that work, it has to be long as it holds the brake line splitter block to axle as well. It's tapped for SAE bolt threads. Here's what Jim and I got today- 8.8 going in Basically installed, still need to make breather bolt and fab e-brake cable adapters for each disc- Hmmm something's missing here- Thanks for dropping by Michelle! Just a little early. And Norm-well, too late!!
