I'd be very, very, very suprised if you couldn't walk into PnP right this minute and buy five of them. They usually have more 302 and 351 serpentine vans than you can shake a stick at ...
I'd also consider looking for a Saginaw out of a GM van with the remote fluid reservoir. I may do that switch, since I've got next to nothing in the sag I have on there now. Right now I think where I want to put the York is going to interfere with getting to the power steering fill cap.

I think I saw lotsa Ford vans out there the other day. If Rich doesn't find the bracket, I can take a peek when I'm out there Friday, if I have time.... will probably run into Rich depending on when he's out there and when I'm out there! Hmmm.... Rich, you got any large combo wrenches? I'm probably going to have to "borrow" some from work (we have tons of extras) so I can pull some 'xploder coils Friday. Might need some help breaking the bolts, since I will be solo....

I have to pull a couple driveshafts/u-bolt plates (for temporary reasons). And a 14 bolt yoke... (if I find anything else maybe that too). ;D Just let me know... Chances are I'll be wearing a dark hoody over coveralls... I'll be carrying around a big plastic red and black Craftsman toolbox.... With a hot cup of Coffee... ;D

Not sure, depends on when I can get off work. Usually Fridays I'm off ship around noonish at the latest, so I figure around 2pm at the latest. I still have to crunch some numbers and figure out which coils would be best so I'll be sitting level when I swap coils and leafs out this weekend. I forget what size those bolts are, either 26 or as large as 30mm (1, 1 1/16, 1 1/8, 1 1/4 or somewhere around there). Worst case scenario is I just bring a slug hammer with me and give it hell.

Rich,
Main thing is, one of 'em has to be a combo wrench because you can't get a breaker bar / socket on the nut inside the center of the coil spring. I'm going to borrow what I can, but if you could, bring what you can. I may also see how many front and rear spare driveshafts I can snag while I'm there for trail spares, etc. I know there were at least a couple other rears and two or three fronts, if not more. The particular rig I'd like to pull coils from, well there are two: One is a navy blue '93 'xploder, if I remember right, and the other is a gold color, the gold one is all the way back by the fence in one of the rows, and the other is closer to the main road / walkway going into the yard. All I know is I need a matched set from one that has a 2650 GVWR up front, so we'll see what we can come up with. If you need my cell number so we can hook up Friday, let me know. Keith, let us know what you need and we'll look and hopefully extricate one for ya.

That would be great if you find one. Either shoot me your cell, or here's mine...621-9681. I'll definately want it if you're willing to pull it for me.

Rich, Main thing is, one of 'em has to be a combo wrench because you can't get a breaker bar / socket on the nut inside the center of the coil spring... Dave, is the front end put together like the Fullsizes? I usually remove the little retainer clip on the top of the coil, flex the arm and coil down until the bushings bind, and come down the center of the coil from the top with around 18" or so worth of extensions. ;D I'd get a pic of the bracket he needs off mine, but I don't have my camera handy. Look for any late 80's to mid 90's fuelie Ford van. Normally most of the left side brackets they used are interchangeable, and are drilled for both the 351W and 302 (only difference is the location of the hole that goes over the water pump stud -- most have one hole for each motor, since the 351W heads sit 1.3" farther from the crank and water pump than the 302). If you want to pull the bracket off a 351W, look for a bracket that has another unused hole about 1-1/4" up and to the right from the one that goes over the water pump stud. Of course if you pull one off a 302 it'll definitely work, and 302 vans at PnP outnumber the 351's by around 3:1. Might also want to grab the power steering pressure hose off of whatever van you pull it from. I don't remember, I believe Ford may use a different hose end -- even if he uses a new hose, it'd be good to have the original for reference. Of course if he already has a sag pump on the Jeep now, his current one will bolt right on. They all have the same bolt pattern as far as I know.

Chuck, that'd be an option too, and for that I'd need some kind of drift or chisel to big screwdriver to bend the tab(s) out of the way. I'll see if one of my sockets I have is the right size and maybe plan for that option as well. What actually would have been nice would have been to have a portable compressor, an impact, extension(s), slug hammer and a drift when we were there on Sunday. I would have had coils already and would have had more time to grab other things as well. Hoping that nothing I saw that I wanted to snag is already snagged.... I am hoping to also get a radiator for more cooling capacity and a few other things ;D
Rich and I will look for said bracket, hopefully we find one without too much trouble! ;D

Where are these tabs? What I have is a bent strap, with tabs that lock up into a hole in the coil bucket, and one little sheetmetal screw that holds the other end of the strap. You can see it in the pic below, the driver's side brake caliper is hanging from it. We may wanna move the BII portion of this discussion over to your thread, so we're not hijacking Keith's so much. ;D

Chuck,
The top of the coils have tabs that come thru the center of the coil and one or two are usually bent up around the coil to retain it. There are no removable pieces to remove the upper part of the coil, just tabs to bend back towards the center. And on that note [/hijack]! PM me or discuss on my buildup thread...

Keith, we (Dave G. and I) started to monkey around on the van for you but we only had an 30 minutes before they closed.. I'm heading back tomorrow... I should be able to get it.. (There's a lot of crap in the way!!!).... Tomorrow I'll bring my razor blades and have a little fun.. (I should be there around 1pm)... If anybody is going to be out that way tomorrow and you see some dude wrenching on a van or a rear axle trying to get a 14 bolt yoke loose... that's me! ;D... Come on over and lets talk about wheeling... I actually got to talk to Dave G. today... real cool guy.... It was cool meeting somebody from this forum... Although standing in the rain wasn't too fun.... Watching the people did run for shelter gave me a little laugh.
