Thanks for the offers to help pull the cab off the frame but with a couple chains a piece of 2x2 square tube and my engine hoist and I pulled the body by myself.

Over the last couple days I have made some steps towards getting the frame done. Monday I went and picked up my old welder thats the nice thing about a 4wheelers club. Yesterday I went and got the gas bottle filled up for the welder. today I got off early and went and picked up a piece of 3/16" x 6" x 20' flat bar and then went home and started cutting out the discs to fix the body mounts and the repair plates to fix the thin spots in the frame. I got the plates cut out and I coated them with por15 and I also coated the frame where the plates will be going so that there is no bare metal between the plate and frame. I had to call it a night so that the por15 can dry, but with any luck I can get the plates clamped in tomorrow and drill all the holes for the body mount and spring hangers then I will bolt them all in and then weld the plates to the frame. I figure having the stuff bolted in will help keep the plates from shifting while I am welding. I am hoping to get all the crossmembers cleaned up and back in the frame before next friday because I need to get the frame out of the garage so I can do the clutch in my brothers F-150. There should be more updates coming soon after the frame is done I am gonna start tearing into the motor because I want to get the motor and tranny in before I put the body back on.

its going I guess I managed to find another manual transfer case and I started to take the motor apart looks like I am gonna have to drill out 2 of the exhaust manifold bolts. Not bad I guess since the last time i did it I had to drill out 8 of the 12 bolts on my 2.9liter motor. Hopefully depending on my work schedule this week ( yay I get to go back to work this week) <-sarcasm I am gonna get my hoist so I can get the motor out to the yard and pressure wash all the gunk off of it and then I will be able to take the motor apart and swap out some gaskets while the motor is out. It has a pretty nasy oil leak coming from who knows where. I think I will change everything but the head gaskets. Hopefully that will fix it cause the motor ran strong when I pulled it the only problem was got about 50miles to the quart of oil

If it wasn't burning the oil, I would also check to see if there are any holes in the block where something should be (plug or sending unit), Bryan.... ran into a similar situation before on a 2.3L 4-cyl Ford engine and found out there was a hole that was supposed to be plugged but wasn't and oil was being pumped out of it! Hopefully, though, it just needs gaskets - although, if you have a full gasket set including head gaskets, you might as well consider replacing them as they might be culprit - better safe now than sorry after you've put the engine back in the truck! Just my $0.02 Dave G

today I got up early for work and had a few minutes to play in the garage before work and figured I would try getting anothe one of the busted exhast manifold bolts out and I now only need to drill and tap 1 bolt.

TO DO LIST 1. repaint the rest of the undercarriage (where the idiot painted it chrome) 2. build body mounts for the back of the body 3. Tub the back corners of the cab 4. Get new body bushings 5. build flat bed 6. swap motor and tranny 7. upgrade to 6" of lift not in that order

If I were you, I'd take a good look at what it would take to extend the bronco frame a little and move the rear axle back for increased wheelbase and to clear the extended cab. Somewhere between 100" and 106" is what I'd aim for. It would make it more stable for steep climbs, reduce rear drive shaft angles (leave room for a doubler..), and greatly improve the aesthetics - I love your work and what your doing, but it's gonna look funny with the rear that short with that cab.
Just my opinion - for what it's worth. Adam

Bryan it is so hard not to make jokes on this post but, I'm with adam that rear axle needs to be centered right where the frame ends. Heck you can probably use a little of the ranger frame to do it and still have enough for the trailer. I hope your making a METAL flat bed and not some red neck 2x4 pine one.
Now back to the jokes You doing you richard simmons workouts in the garage now.

I could always 4link the rear and move the axle back
